Our Mission: The mission of the student council of Highlands Junior School is to cultivate leadership skills and instill the value of service in our school and community.

Throughout the school year, the student council is involved in service projects in the school and community.  We do our big projects in December, and February.  Last year we collected Toys for Tots for Christmas.  The student body pulled together and collected over 2,500 toys to be distributed to needy families in our area.  Also, we sponsored the Valentine’s Dance and raised enough money to help purchase the new bleacher chairs for the gymnasiums.

Here is a list of the proposed Projects for this year:

** Morning Announcement Crew—all year long

 September – Parent Night Guides

October – Red Ribbon Week Activities

 November – Food Drive

December – Toys for Tots, Christmas presents for faculty, Christmas cards for
  nursing homes

February - Valentine’s Dance, carnation sales

 May – Teacher Appreciation Week
