Since school is cancelled, do I need to continue online learning?
Yes. Students who do not engage in online learning or are not passing a core course are required to attend summer school.
Is online instruction required for my child?
Yes, all students must complete assigned online instruction. We will be supporting students through other means if they do not have the ability to access online instruction.
Will students be given a grade? Will grades be taken in TEAMS?
Yes, grades will be entered in TEAMS. You will receive progress reports through parent portal where you can see your child’s grades (1st-12th grade). You will receive report cards through the mail. You can always view updated grades on parent portal. The purpose of giving grades is to provide feedback to our students and parents. Teachers are aware that this is a unique situation and will be flexible in meeting the needs of students in the grading process.
How can I support my student’s learning through this platform?
There are many resources available to our families. Teachers have daily office hours as listed on the online instruction letter. Instructional videos, assignments, and activities will be posted each week. Learning hours are flexible based on your family’s schedule. If you need any technology assistance, please reach out to your student’s teacher or call tech support at 281-421-4402 (8 a.m. – 8 p.m.).
How will this affect class rank?
TBD

No.
If I am a SPED or 504 student, will I receive any of my accommodations?
Resource/inclusion teachers will partner with general education teachers to provide support for your child. Students in self-contained classrooms will receive online instruction through their assigned teacher. All accommodations and modifications will be provided to the best of the district’s ability. An ARD or amendment may be held to discuss any changes to programming to support your child during this time.
How are teachers communicating with students?
Teachers will assign all instruction through SeeSaw (grades PK-2) or Google Classroom (grades 3-12). Communication may be sent through Remind, Class Dojo, Student/Parent email, etc. Your teachers will have assigned office hours where they will be available to communicate with students and families to support instruction.
What do we do if we don’t have technology or internet in the home?
Teachers will be reaching out to families to verify internet access and hardware. Please reach out to your child’s teacher if you do not have the necessary technology. The district will be collecting data in order to provide alternative methods to support your child.
Which device will allow my child to access the lessons?
You can access lessons on a laptop, tablet, phone, or even a gaming system.
Will the district be lending out devices?
We are considering checking out technology based on student need. We are also considering alternative instructional platforms if needed.
Are you opening any campuses for technology use?
