Goose Creek Memorial High School students stand in line to purchase lunch from food trucks, offered as an incentive for increasing the attendance percentage. The school normally has a 92 percent attendance rate, and this past week, it was at 93.8 percent. Students attending every class Monday through Thursday received a stamp on their wrist to allow them to go out to the food trucks for lunch on Friday. After six weeks, administrators will evaluate the program to see if attendance has increased.

Emily Garcia, ninth-grader, orders her lunch from a food truck at Goose Creek Memorial High School, as Daitlyn Limas, also a ninth-grader, decides what she wants to purchase. The girls attended all classes Monday through Thursday, giving them the opportunity to enjoy the food trucks at lunch on Friday. This is an incentive program, which will be evaluated after six weeks, to increase the attendance rate at GCM.
