Grand Opening of GCCISD's Agriscience Center

Enjoying face painting at the recent grand opening of Goose Creek CISD’s Agriscience Center are (from left)  April Wadel, pre-k, and Ariel Lara, fourth grade at Bañuelos Elementary with Amaly Wadel. The new facility includes two classrooms; a practice arena; separate hog, lamb/goat and cattle barns, each with wash, groom and feed areas; student locker rooms and large equipment storage areas. Following a joint meeting of FFA students from Goose Creek Memorial, Robert E. Lee, Ross S. Sterling and Stuart Career Tech high schools, guests participated in stick horse races, rope making, calf roping, face painting and super-sliding. Former Baytown City Councilman Terry Sain, a former FFA student, spoke to students about how their sense of pride can drive them to become successful citizens of the future. Kevin Parker, former Goose Creek CISD CTE director, told students and parents about the certifications students can earn in their Agriculture Science classes.
