Welcome
to Stuart Career Center!
“Tomorrow’s
Success Through Today’s Learning” is the
motto of Stuart Career Center, where students
become equipped to successfully participate
in today’s competitive work force or continue
with post-secondary education at an advanced
level.
Our
mission and goals...
It
is the purpose and mission of John M. Stuart
Career Center to provide an educational
program which will allow all students the
opportunity to apply academic skills in
a vocational setting. A student may develop
job knowledge, employment skills, and work
attitudes that will provide each individual
with a vocation that will yield self-fulfillment,
financial security, and time for recreational
activities and civic involvement.
Inherent
with this purpose and mission is the belief
that all individuals can learn and that
vocational education will make a difference
in an individual’s contribution to society
and success in the world of work.
Our
goals are the following:
- To
improve student performance
- To
improve school climate
- To
prepare students for the world of work
- To
prepare students for post secondary education
Facts
about our school...
Stuart
Career Center, located on 20 acres of land
in the heart of Baytown, was built in 1974
to offer students vocational and career
training. Students from both high schools
enroll at Stuart Career Center to participate
in our numerous programs. This enables them
to get a head start on training for their
chosen career, explore a field of interest,
and gain knowledge and skills about the
work world.
A
message from our principal...
Stuart
Career Center welcomes all students. Our
staff keeps current with industry standards
through staff development, re-training in
business and industry, and communications
with business and industry. We strive to
have facilities and equipment that meet
industry standards. We hope to give our
students background information and skills
so that they will be successful in post-secondary
education or in their career choice. We
invite you to visit our campus.
