CO-TEACHING
Collaboration between a regular classroom teacher and a special
education teacher in an effort to build success for all students.
The two teachers share teaching responsibilities for regular and
special education students. This program is for students who are
eligible for special education and who are able to benefit from
instruction in a regular education classroom with Co-Teach modifications
and support from the special education teacher's presence.

CONTENT MASTERY CENTER (CMC)
For students who can benefit from direct mainstream instruction
in the content areas, but who require some pull-out special education
support services.
Locations:
Most regular education campuses provide CMC services
RESOURCE CLASSROOMS
For students who are eligible for special education and who need
pull-out special education services. Mainstream instruction has
not been successful.
Locations:
All GCCISD regular campuses provide resource classrooms/services
PRESCHOOL PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES (PPCD)
For
preschool aged students who are eligible for special education services
and for whom direct classroom instruction is needed.

LIFE SKILLS
For students who are eligible for special education services and
who need functional academic,
home, community, and pre-vocational skills. Less restrictive environments
have not been
successful or there is documentation to indicate least restrictive
placements would not be appropriate.

BEHAVIOR IMPROVEMENT/PASS CLASSES
For students who are eligible for special education and who need
a therapeutic, structured behavioral milieu and for whom less restrictive
environments have not been successful or there
is documentation to indicate the least restrictive environment would
not be appropriate.

SPEECH/LANGUAGE THERAPY
For students who are eligible for special education and who have
deficits in articulation or expressive/receptive language. Less
restrictive environments have been unsuccessful or the
student requires therapy from a licensed speech/language pathologist.
Locations:
All GCCISD campuses are served by the speech/language pathologists.
VOCATIONAL ADJUSTMENT CLASS (VAC)
For those high school students who will need pre-vocational, academic,
and vocational training
to be prepared for the work setting by the time of graduation.
