Cosmetology

Mission
The Cosmetology program at Lee High School partners with Lee College. The program provides the student with the technical background and experience necessary to develop the skills and theoretical knowledge required to pass the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation Examination to become a licensed Cosmetology Operator.
Purpose
The Cosmetology Program at Lee High School is designed to meet the needs of high school students who desire to enter the personal care services industry in a minimum amount of time. Lee HS partners with Lee College to provide students the opportunity to earn both high school and college credit for their cosmetology classes. The program provides the student with the technical background and experience necessary to develop the skills and theoretical knowledge required to pass the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation Examination to become a licensed Cosmetology Operator and to gain employment in professional salons. Students must pay a $50 dual credit fee annually and a one-time fee of $25 for a cosmetology student permit. Purchasing individual kits of equipment is optional for students.
Program Overview
The GCCISD Cosmetology program partners with Lee College. Our students who enter into this program will be enrolled in Dual Credit courses as 9th graders and will be required to not only maintain the academic, attendance and behavioral expectations of the district but also Lee College.
