Giant Alumnus of the Month

Rosendo (Jovany) Flores Jr., our Giant Alumnus of the Month for October 2021, graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 2006. He is an artist in so many ways.

Not only did his talent shine in his artwork, but through dance with his dance crew, BREAK Entertainment, where he built a small community of children who needed a safe place and positive activity. They competed in various dance competitions and even appeared on MTV.

Jovany graduated from barber school in 2010, where he developed a love for cutting hair and creating unique designs. His business, known as SIK KUTZ BARBERSHOP, established in 2012, with the help of his loving father Rosendo Flores senior, has been awarded the #1 shop in the city and has been recognized for community service by giving free haircuts and mentorship to children. He also organizes a toy drive every year and dedicates time to local shelters. In addition, Jovany has won many barber competitions and serves as a judge for the Houston Barber Battles.

After educating himself on harmful chemicals in most hair products, he created an all-natural beard and hair product line called Docè, with his wife, Joany Flores.
