About Us

The purpose of the Assessment and Accountability Department is to provide leadership for the district’s student assessment and data interpretation processes and implementation of the state and federal accountability systems.

Assessment

The purpose of student assessment is to ensure the alignment and evaluation of the written, taught and tested curriculum to inform instruction for the improvement of the performance of all students in the school district.

ACT – American College Testing Program

ACT, Inc. is an independent, not-for-profit organization that provides more than a hundred assessment, research, information, and program management services in the broad educational planning, career planning, and workforce development.

 

PSAT/NMSQT
[Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test]

The PSAT/NMSQT gives you firsthand practice for the SAT I and SAT II: Subject Test in Writing. It also gives you a chance to qualify for scholarship and recognition programs.

SAT College Board

The College Board promotes equity through universal access to high standards of teaching and learning and sufficient financial resources so that every student has the opportunity to succeed in college and work.

 

THEA
[Texas Higher Education Assessment]

The THEA Test has been approved by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, under Senate Bill 286, Texas Education Code, Section 51.3062: Texas Success Initiative, for use by Texas institutions of higher education as an assessment instrument for entering students.
