Education legislation recently passed by Texas lawmakers is designed to put all students on a path to college and meaningful careers. House Bill 5 reduces the number of tests students must take, and provides greater flexibility for high school students to choose courses that match their interests and career goals.

Next year’s entering 9th-graders will create a personal graduation plan and declare an “endorsement” that will better prepare them for success after graduation.

GCCISD has already been laying the foundation for these new requirements, but it’s important for all families to understand how it all fits together to create a personalized path for each and every student.
