Partners Rally for Cards for the Troops

Students in Sandra Burmaster’s homeroom at San Jacinto Elementary, surround Goose Creek CISD Superintendent Randal O’Brien to touch the trophy they received as the class that donated the most Cards for the Troops, sponsored by the Partner In Education program through the Baytown Chamber of Commerce. They also received tickets to a Dynamo game. San Jacinto Elementary and its partner, ExxonMobil BTEC-West, contributed the most cards, more than 8,000, to the project. Ross S. Sterling High School and Houston San Jacinto Methodist Hospital partnered as the winning high school contributor, with more than 7,000 cards, and Baytown Junior School and partner ExxonMobil Chemical Americas donated the most cards in the junior school category. Hopper Primary won the award for Most Creative with their mug cards with hot chocolate packets. The cards were delivered by “HOME,” which stands for Helping Our Military Endure.
