RSS Highlands Junior Choir’s Production of "Annie Jr."
The Highlands Junior School Choir Department is proud to announce its production of “Annie Jr.” “Annie Jr.” is a Broadway Junior version based on the theatrical stage show by the same name which opened in 1977 on Broadway and ran for six years. It spawned numerous productions in many countries, as well as national tours, and won the Tony Award for Best Musical. The musical's songs "Tomorrow" and "It's the Hard Knock Life" are among its most popular musical numbers. Broadway Junior musicals are condensed, author-approved versions of classic musicals tailored to the needs of young people and schools.
The cast of Annie Jr. includes Kennah Holloway as Annie, Izabella Galindo as Miss Hannigan, Brenna Martinez as Grace Farrell, Jason Richards as Daniel “Rooster” Hannigan and Bert Healy the Radio Announcer, Alexis Lengel as Lily St. Regis, Gabriel Brock as Oliver and Warbucks, Aidan Chaffin as President Franklin D. Roosevelt and Apple Seller, Caide Hurley as Bundles McCloskey and Lt. Ward, Robert Bailey as Dogcatcher and Louis Howe, Bernice Cantu as Star-to-Be, Shayla White as Usherette and Sarah Johnson as Sandy.
Orphans include Sha’Nya Hughes as Pepper, Sydney Deavers as Tessie, Haley Nugent as July, Kassie Veimau as Duffy, Kara Kennepohl as Molly, and Paige Allen as Kate.
The roles of the servants will be played by Caide Hurley as Drake, Micaiah Perry as Mrs. Greer, Camila Miranda as Mrs. Pugh, Bernice Cantu as Cecile, Sonia Quiroga as Annette, and Shelby Crowell as Margaret.
There will be two performances of “Annie Jr.” The dates are May 23 and 24 in the Highlands Junior Auditorium at 7 p.m. The admission price is $7 for a single ticket and set of 4 tickets is $20. A professional photo with the cast will be available for $10. Payments can be made through cash or money order only, no personal checks. Advance tickets may be purchased through the choir department or through a cast member.
