New Substitute Requirements

  • To substitute for the following positions requires a college degree and a Texas State Teaching Certificate or College Degree Only, or minimum of 45 college credit hours or an associate degree: 

    • Substitute Classroom Teacher

    • Substitute Librarian

    • Substitute Nurse
  • To substitute following position requires a high school diploma or Graduate Equivalency Degree (GED):
    • Aide
    1. Apply for a substitute position by clicking Apply Online located on the Navigation bar to the left.
    2. Attend a substitute orientation session (you will be contacted with a date and time).
    3. Bring the following documents to the substitute orientation session:
      1. Original Social Security Card and Photo ID (driver’s license or passport)
      2. Photocopy of a high school diploma or GED
      3. Voided check or direct deposit form
