MCJROTC Cadets from Ross S. Sterling High School display their awards at the recent Marine Corps JROTC Awards Ceremony.
The Ross S. Sterling Marine Corps JROTC held the annual MCJROTC Awards Ceremony recently. C/LtCol Destiny Serrano, outgoing Cadet Company Commanding Officer, passed her position to C/Major Ryan Anderson during the Cadet Change of Command Ceremony.
Awards from outside sources and recipients were Sons of the American Revolution Award - Cadet SSgt Esdras Pedraza; Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War - Cadet LtCol Destiny Serrano; Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Award - Cadet LtCol Destiny Serrano; USAREC (Army Recruiting Command) JROTC Cadet Award - 1stSgt Ryan Anderson and Cadet Maj Daisy Grimaldo; Women Marines Association Award - Cadet Maj Tiara Yebra; American Legion Award for Scholastic Excellence - Cadet Sgt Maj Erin Whatley; American Legion Award for Military Excellence - Cadet 1stSgt Ryan Anderson; American Veterans Award - Cadet Capt Michael Eaton; Military Order of the Purple Heart JROTC Medal - Cadet 1stSgt Ryan Anderson and Daughters of the American Revolution Award - Cadet Sergeant Cheyenne Cantu.

RSS MCJROTC Outstanding Cadet Ribbons were awarded to Cadet 1st Sgt Ryan Anderson, Cadet Major Daisy Grimaldo, Cadet Maj Tiara Yebra, Cadet Staff Sergeant Esdras Pedraza, Cadet 1stSgt Alonda Marintez Munoz and Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Destiny Serrano. The NCO Leadership Award went to Cadet 1st Sgt Ryan Anderson, and the Officer Leadership Award went to Cadet Maj Daisy Grimaldo.
Recruiter of the Year was Cadet 1stSgt Alonda Marintez Munoz, and Best Drill Cadet Awards went to Cadet Corporal Cruz, Cadet Corporal Rueda Garcia, Cadet 1stSgt Cesar Rivera, Cadet 1st Sgt Ryan Anderson and Cadet Capt Michael Eaton.
