675 students compete in
Elementary UIL Academic Tournament
Goose Creek CISD’s annual Elementary UIL Academic Tournament was held Jan. 21 and Jan. 22 at Sterling High School.
All elementary schools were represented with 675 second through fifth grade students participating in the following academic events: Creative Writing; Dictionary Skills; Listening Skills; Maps, Graphs and Charts; Number Sense; Oral Reading; Ready Writing; Spelling; Storytelling; Art; and Music Memory.
Students received medals for 1st through 6th place in each event and schools received 1st through 3rd place district trophies for each event at the awards ceremony.
The Goose Creek CISD Advanced Academics Department would like to thank campus UIL coordinators and coaches who helped students prepare for each event, as well as campus administrators for their support of this event. We would also like to thank UIL academic event directors who conducted the events, and numerous volunteers who served as judges, monitors, graders and guides.
