Matthew Flood is the chief technology officer for Goose Creek CISD. He leads the Technology department, comprising the Technology Services, Information Services and the Educational Technology teams. 

 
A product of Goose Creek CISD, Matt attended Highlands Elementary, Highlands Junior School and Ross S. Sterling High School, and began his career in the district as a part- time employee while in high school; working in the afternoons to repair computers. 

 
In his time with the district, Flood has held various positions in the Technology department, from computer repair technician, district webmaster, network administrator and director of technology services. Under his leadership, the district earned a Trusted Learning Environment Seal (TLE Seal), which is the national distinction for student data privacy practices, making Goose Creek the fifth district in Texas to receive this distinction. 

 
Flood holds an Associate of Science from Lee College, bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from Excelsior College and Master of Science from Bellevue University. Flood is also a Registered Texas School Business Administrator (RTSBA) from the Texas Association of School Business Officials and a Certified Education Technology Leader(CETL) from Consortium for School Network.

 
In January 2022, Flood received the Grace Hopper Award by Texas Education Technology Leaders. It serves as the organization’s “Outstanding CTO of the Year” award. He was also named the National CTO of the Year by the Consortium for School Network in May 2022.
