Dr. Matt Bolinger serves as the assistant superintendent for human resources for GCCISD. His office provides leadership for human resources activities to ensure high quality and retention of district personnel as well as recommends and implements legally sound and effective human resource management programs, policies and practices.
Dr. Matthew Bolinger also served as executive director of strategic planning and innovation, overseeing the planning and execution of the district’s strategic plan, communications, marketing, AVID programs, special projects, and community engagement.
A Baytown native and graduate of Lee High School, he received his Bachelor of Science from Dallas Baptist University, Master of Science in cognitive science from the University of Texas at Dallas, and Doctor of Education in educational leadership from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. His experience in education spans more than two decades.
He began his teaching career in McKinney, Texas, where he served as a teacher for 10 years and district coordinator for two years. In Goose Creek CISD, he has served as assistant principal at Goose Creek Memorial High School, academic dean at Lee High School, and principal at Baytown Junior School. He was selected as the Goose Creek CISD Secondary Principal of the Year in 2017.
