Seniors Take a "Giant" Leap into their Future
By: Kristyn Hunt Cathey, Director of Communications
Goose Creek CISD held their first “Giant Decision Day” celebration April 18-22nd. The brainchild of Kimberly Bernard-Fox, Director of Counseling and College and Career Readiness, and Anna Espinoza, Coordinator for Counseling and College and Career Readiness, the week-long celebration recognized and celebrated students that committed to college or career after graduation. Students that committed to attend two- or four-year colleges, the U.S. Armed Forces or the workforce were honored by their home campus. Bernard-Fox was proud beyond words of the success of the campus events. “We had no idea when we began planning this celebratory week if it would work or not,” she said. “But the campuses bought into the idea hook, line and sinker and the students and their families seem so proud. I can’t wait to do it again next year!”
