District Hosts Two-Day GIANT Professional Development Workshop
By: Kristyn Hunt Cathey, APR – Director of Communications
Professional development is key to the success of any school district. Goose Creek CISD provided their employees with a two-day professional development workshop August 4-5th to jumpstart the new school year. “Giantcon” was housed at Edward E.F. Franklin Junior School and Goose Creek Memorial High School. Teachers, nurses, counselors, coaches and other positions in between participated in the event. Guest speakers from across the state provided attendees with the tools they needed to reach their students. Over 30 businesses and organizations sponsored door prizes and met with attendees at their booths. The Association of Texas Professional Educators, Bartlett Cocke General Contractors, Gandy Ink, Community Resource Credit Union, Family First ER: Baytown Emergency Room, and Baytown Nutrition were just a few of the businesses that took part in the event.
