Covestro Baytown presented Goose Creek CISD with $26,000 earmarked for STEM scholarships and the robotics program during their September 6th Board meeting. The district provides its pre-k through 12th grade students with opportunities to take STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) courses through their academy programs as well as participate on their award-winning robotics team. This year, the district debuted a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) academy for pre-K students, located at Austin and Walker Elementary Schools.

Covestro Baytown is a proud member of the district’s Partners in Education partnership program. Located 25 miles east of Houston, the Baytown facility spans 1,700 acres and employees over 1,000 workers and 750 nested contractors. According to their website, the Baytown facility is Covestro’s largest manufacturing site in North America.
