Giant Alumnus of the Month

Our Giant Alumnus of the Month for September 2022 is Lauren Ailles. Lauren graduated from Lee High School in 2014, where she played volleyball. After high school, Lauren signed a scholarship to play volleyball at Lamar State College in Port Arthur and later graduated from the University of Texas-Arlington, majoring in broadcast journalism. After graduation, Lauren started a journalism career as a multimedia journalist and traffic anchor in Midland-Odessa and gained experience covering difficult stories, such as the Midland-Odessa mass shooting.

She moved to Abilene, Texas, to take the evening anchor position at KRBC. During her time in Abilene, Lauren greatly impacted the community and received national recognition for her charity, “Forever Family.” The organization raises awareness about the foster system; since its start, adoptions in the greater Abilene area have risen by over 400%. Lauren now works for News 15 in Louisiana.
