Brooke Heaney

Giant Student of the Month

Our Giant Student of the Month for December 2022 is Brooke Heaney, a fifth-grade student at Dr. Antonio Bañuelos Elementary. Brooke has been a gifted and talented student since kindergarten. She has consistently been on the honor roll and has shown extreme work ethic and drive. Currently, Brooke has the most Accelerated Reader points in the school. AR is a program that focuses on reading growth and comprehension. Last year, she won the Franchesca’s Friends recipe contest, a competition open to all fourth and fifth-grade students to share recipes using farm-fresh Texas produce. In addition, Brooke is a member of the anti-bullying committee and plays select softball for Texas Storm, where her team has won several championships.

She is dedicated to producing excellent performances in everything she does. Brooke never backs down from a challenge and serves as a mentor for other students on campus. This year, she will serve as the Bañuelos Student Council President and participate in UIL. She is also helping with community projects such as Green Light A Vet, motivating others to place a green bulb on their front porch light to show appreciation for our veterans.
