Rishabh Gadi

Giant Alumnus of the Month

Our Giant Alumnus of the Month for December 2022 is Rishabh Gadi. Rishabh had a dream in 2nd grade to work in space; his mother still has a 2nd-grade paper outlining his goal to do so. Rishabh graduated from Sterling in 2014 after attending De Zavala Elementary and Gentry Junior School. After graduation, he attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University before transferring to The University of Akron. In 2020, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace, aeronautical, and astronautical engineering. During this time, he was awarded the Trajectory Award-a $10,000 check to pay back loan debt given to students who showed evidence of leadership, community involvement, and academic excellence.

Rishabh was nominated by his high school teacher, Mr. Ghere. Mr. Ghere describes Rishabh as passionate about learning, dedicated to his studies, and, most importantly, inspiring to students interested in robotics. “Rishabh has always been a person to change his community positively. While still in high school, he led outreach programs in elementary schools to introduce them to the world of robotics. While he college, he mentored local high school robotics teams, and even now, Rishabh continues to mentor FIRST Robotics Team 416, The Nighthawks. I can assuredly state that Rishabh influences the next generation of engineers, programmers, and designers of robotic systems.” -Mr. Howard Ghere, Sterling CTE Teacher in Goose Creek CISD.

Rishabh is currently a research and development engineer at Naval Surface Warfare Center in Dahlgren, Virginia. He leads a multi-tiered interdisciplinary project completing the AC-130 Ghostrider Gunship Precision Strike Package and holds a patent related to his work.
