Angela "Angie" Johnson

Giant Alumnus of the Month

Our Giant Alumnus of the Month for August 2023 is Angie Johnson. Angie is truly a servant leader, always asking how she can help or showing that she will do whatever she needs to do for students.

A 1997 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School, where she was Miss Robert E. Lee, homecoming queen and a cheerleader, Angie now teaches Fundamentals of Computer Science I, II and III; OnRamps Computer Science (UT dual enrollment); and Peer Assistance and Leadership (PAL) at Goose Creek Memorial High School. She serves as the CTE department chair, Student Council advisor, UIL academic coordinator, and cluster leader for Information Technology for the district.

Through the years, Angie has developed programs and created opportunities for students, such as the Patriot Express Coffee Shop while teaching Entrepreneurship. Her Student Council delights in working with the GCM Giving Tree project, providing gifts to GCM feeder school families in need. In 2019, selected by her peers as Campus Teacher of the Year at GCM, she was named District Secondary Teacher of the Year and was a finalist for Region 4 TOY. Angie gives back to Goose Creek CISD as well as to the community in all she does.
