At the last Goose Creek CISD Board meeting, held on November 13, 2023, the Goose Creek CISD Police Department was honored with the distinguished title of 'Accredited Law Enforcement Agency' by the Texas Police Chiefs Association Law Enforcement Accreditation Program. Established in 2006, this program meticulously evaluates law enforcement agencies, ensuring compliance with over 168 Best Business Practices tailored for Texas law enforcement.

Crafted by seasoned Texas law enforcement professionals, these Best Practices are designed to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery while safeguarding individual rights. Encompassing a wide spectrum of law enforcement operations, these practices span areas such as the use of force, protection of citizen rights, vehicle pursuits, property and evidence management, as well as patrol and investigative operations.
Chief Cook of Humble ISD Police had the honor of presenting Goose Creek CISD Chief of Police Davis Smith with the well-deserved award, symbolizing the Goose Creek CISD Police Department's commitment to excellence in law enforcement. As a gesture of gratitude for Dr. Randal O'Brien's unwavering support of the police department and its initiatives, the department extended their appreciation by presenting him with a replica of their prestigious award.
With over 2,000 law enforcement agencies scattered across the State of Texas, including 200+ ISD law enforcement agencies, the Goose Creek CISD Police Department stands out as the 9th ISD police agency to achieve accredited status. This recognition reflects the department's dedication to upholding the highest standards in policing, contributing to the safety and well-being of the community it serves.
