GCCISD Stars Shine

The Goose Creek CISD Sterling Stars Varsity Drill team received a Division 1 Rating Sweepstakes at the inaugural Katy ISD Dance Team Invitational. The purpose of the invitational was to provide a uniformly adjudicated evaluation for high school dance/drill teams or performance ensembles tied to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for dance.

The GCCISD Sterling Stars received 1s from all judges at the first inaugural Katy ISD Dance Invitational.

 

The Stars were honored to represent Ross S. Sterling High School and GCCISD at this event. They performed their pom routine entitled “Happy New Year” and walked away earning the highest award possible. Competing in the 5A Division, the Stars received a Division 1 Rating from all 3 judges, therefore earning a Sweepstakes Award. They were also one of the top 10 teams in the entire competition, which consisted of 45 5A & 6A teams from across the state.

 

The Stars made history in the first year ever of this type of competition, and their legacy will live on for years to come. The Sterling Stars are under the Direction of Lori Alexander & Yoanna Isas.
