Giant Alumnus of the Month

Our Giant Alumnus of the Month for October 2024 is Dr. Wendy (Davis) Crouse, local veterinarian and graduate of Ross S. Sterling High School.

Dr. Wendy (Davis) Crouse is the owner of Heal House Call Veterinary and a trailblazer in veterinary medicine. As the first veterinarian to use the e-prescribing platform PetScript, Dr. Crouse is changing how pet prescriptions are handled, helping the veterinary field keep up with human healthcare practices. With e-prescribing, veterinarians can send prescriptions directly to the pharmacy of a pet parent’s choice, streamlining the process and saving valuable time for both veterinary staff and pet owners.

With over 14 years of experience practicing veterinary medicine in Las Vegas, Houston, and Baytown, Dr. Crouse established her mobile practice, Heal House Call Veterinary, in 2022. By providing in-home veterinary services, she reduces stress for both pets and their owners, ensuring a more comfortable experience during visits. An advocate for innovation in veterinary care, Dr. Crouse has shared her knowledge at various veterinary conferences, including the American Veterinary Medical Association, and has contributed to numerous blogs to promote the benefits of e-prescribing in the veterinary field.

Beyond her professional achievements, Dr. Crouse is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of pet lovers. Each month from August to May, she volunteers at the four Early Learning Academies, engaging PreK students in the world of veterinary science. Through interactive sessions, she teaches young children about responsible pet care, allowing them to experience being a veterinarian by dressing in her lab coat and using a stethoscope to listen to a guinea pig's heartbeat. Dr. Crouse embodies the spirit of community service and passion for animal care, inspiring countless young minds to become future advocates for pets.
