The Community Challenge is a free, state-wide health competition that inspires individuals, families, employers, cities, and schools to engage in healthier activities. Chronic diseases such as diabetes and heart disease affect millions of Texans, but many of these conditions can be prevented through simple actions like better nutrition, increased physical activity, and community support. The Challenge empowers Texans to embrace health by making it accessible, enjoyable, and achievable.

The Challenge kicked off on January 13, 2025, and runs until March 9. Participants log healthy habits like hydration, exercise, and nutritious meals using the free Community Challenge mobile app. They can also join live webinars, access educational resources, and recruit friends, family, and colleagues to participate.

Goose Creek CISD has ranked among the top three school districts in the state for the past four years in its size category. The district is dedicated to inspiring students, staff, parents, and the community to embrace healthy lifestyles. District recreational facilities, including tracks, walking trails, and playgrounds, are open outside school hours to encourage active living.

Baytown earned 3rd place in the 2024 competition. With more than 50 parks and over 15 miles of trails, it offers countless opportunities to get active. By joining forces, Baytown aims to secure the top spot in 2025 and build a healthier, more connected community.

Register at TxCommunityChallenge.org today, download the app, and let’s make 2025 our healthiest year yet. Together, we can inspire positive, long-lasting change and make Baytown a model for wellness and community strength.
