Giant Staff Member of the Month

Our Giant Staff Member of the Month for March 2026 is Jade Cherry, an English teacher at Robert E. Lee High School and a vibrant force within the Gander community.

Currently teaching English 1, Mrs. Cherry plays a pivotal role in helping freshmen navigate their transition into high school. Beyond the English classroom, she leads a thriving AVID class, where she focuses on college readiness and helping students build a foundation for future success. Known for her unique and engaging teaching style, she consistently finds ways to make learning fun, inspiring her students to look forward to their time in her classroom each day.

In addition to her academic roles, Mrs. Cherry serves as a coach for the Varsity cheer team. Her leadership extends well beyond the sidelines, as she is a constant fixture at Lee athletics events. Her support doesn't stop there; she makes it a priority to show up for most campus and district events.

What truly sets Mrs. Cherry apart is her role as a trusted mentor. She makes herself available to anyone who needs a listening ear, whether the topic is school-related or personal. Her ability to brighten the day for both students and staff members alike has made her an essential part of the campus culture.

By balancing the demands of teaching, coaching, and motherhood, Mrs. Cherry serves as a powerful role model. Her dedication to student achievement and her genuine care for the Gander family make her a deserving recipient of this recognition.
