5x5 Instructional Schedule

for Goose Creek Memorial High School, Robert E. Lee High School, and Ross S. Sterling High School.

Starting in the 2026-2027 school year, Goose Creek CISD will transition to a 5x5 instructional schedule across all traditional high schools. Designed to maximize student potential, this new model consists of five extended, 80-minute classes per semester, allowing students the opportunity to earn up to 10 credits annually. By focusing on fewer subjects at a time and providing faster credit recovery options, the 5x5 schedule fosters deeper learning, stronger student-teacher connections, and increased flexibility.
