
The Blarglefish Robotics team took part in a competition at Channelview High School on March 12th. Out of the 32 teams in attendance, the GCCISD team ranked in the top 10 with seventh place. The Blarglefish were named the Alliance Captain for Team 5 (out of eight teams), which also allowed the team to earn a spot in the top eight seed in the quarterfinals and earn ranking points. Though the team was eliminated in the round two quarterfinals, they did win the Jack Kamen Imagery Award.
The Lee Blargles will have another opportunity to compete at San Jacinto College (central campus) March 25-26th.
Team members include: Antony McLaughlin, Aiden Juarez, Jacquelynn Sosa, Michell Hernandez, Godwin Benny, Jonathan Bosnich, Christina Buenrostro, Ciera Cartwright, Leeland Dionne, Kaleb Pearson, Axel Galindo Martinez, Allison Jannise, Diego Loredo, Max Murray, Alejandro Negrete, Corban Richards, Victor Ruiz Jr. and Blake Sistos.
The district will open its doors to their state-of-the-art Robotics Center facility in August 2022.
