Arin Sood, a senior at Goose Creek Memorial High School, has been named as a finalist in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship program. His PSAT score during his junior year, along with his service, leadership, grades, and involvement, place him among the top 7,500 students nationwide to earn a finalist position, with a scholarship award from the University of Texas at Dallas of $100,000. Arin will major in computer science in the Collegium V Honors Program at UTD. He also secured acceptance into a nine-week research opportunity in the UTD Clark Summer Research Program.

Recently, Arin and his GCM teammates qualified for the Texas UIL State contest in Number Sense and Calculator events. He was a state competitor in the Technology Student Association website and graphic design contest, and a national qualifier in the Future Business Leaders of America political science contest.
