Stephanie Schrull, teacher at Goose Creek Memorial High School, has been named a finalist for the David C. DeBoe Texas History Day Teacher of the Year Award. The Texas State Historical Association (TSHA) awards this honor each year to outstanding teachers who engage their students in historical research through the National History Day program. Although over 230 Texas teachers participated in state-wide History Day events, TSHA only named 15 finalists.

Lisa Berg, Director of Education Services for THSA, explained, “Ms. Schrull’s dedication to her students and to the Texas History Day program is what impressed the selection committee.”

TSHA will announce the winning teacher at the Texas History Day Contest on April 20, 2024 in Austin.
