GCCISD is STAAR Ready!

State testing starts up again this week on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, and GCCISD students and staff are ready! As the end of the year approaches, students’ learning and growth is measured to ensure the staff are using research proven strategies and top-quality materials and resources that align to the state’s standards.

To help build momentum and confidence leading into the testing season, the district has recorded a podcast with Lee High School’s Senior Class President, Tyler Crow, and Curriculum and Instruction Association Director, Kevin Wrobleski. The podcast features some tips and strategies for parents and students before the next round of tests. In addition to the podcast, the district's PR Squad, Community Engagement Team, and Digital Communications Academy at SCTHS collaborated to produce a unique rap and music video. The rap and video were written and choreographed by GCCISD students Hunter Teel and Illeana Ramirez.

The podcast and video were designed to foster positivity around what most deem to be a stressful season in public schools. Goose Creek CISD wants to remind parents and students that despite their importance in district accountability, tests do not define student success.
