My name is Raina Carranza, and I am the Chef Manager with Aramark for GCCISD. I was born and raised here in Baytown, and I graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 2007. I now lead our district’s catering operations and oversee the quality of the food served to our students. I’m passionate about creating meals that are both nutritious and enjoyable, and I take pride in supporting a positive dining experience for all our campuses.
I’ve been working in the food service industry since I was 16, and over the years, I’ve gained experience in a variety of settings. I spent four years with Rice University Food Services before deciding to pursue my education in Baking and Pastry Arts at Houston Community College. I am also ServSafe Certified as well as a Certified ServSafe Instructor and Registered ServSafe Examination Proctor.
In 2011, I joined GCCISD as the Pastry Chef for the Catering Department, a position I held for nine years, as a way to be closer to my kids. My position with GCCISD had allowed me to stay connected to both my family and my passion for food service.
Now, as Chef Manager, I bring that same dedication to every part of my work – whether it’s planning events, supporting our kitchen team, or making sure every student has access to high quality meals they can enjoy.
