STEM Career Academy

The Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Career Academy is at Lee High School. The STEM Academy has earned Model Academy Status by the National Career Academy Coalition and a state T-STEM designation through the Texas Education Agency. ExxonMobil is the academy’s Partner in Education. Exxon provides opportunities to learn about this industry through field experiences, job shadowing, and guest speakers. There are four pathways under the STEM academy, each focusing on a different theme within the STEM industry. The Engineering Pathway provides an honors weighted curriculum and allows hands-on learning to students. Students will utilize the Engineering Design process throughout their tenure at Lee High School. The STEM Academy also partners with Lee College in offering the Instrumentation Pathway, where students can obtain Dual Credit and a level II certification as an Instrumentation Technician. Robotics will expose students to Industrial Robotics and Drones. In the Robotics Pathway, students will have the opportunity to earn their FAA Drone Pilots License. Our newest pathway, Renewable Energy, is the fastest growing industry with over 10,000 jobs left unfilled due to a lack of a workforce. These students will be the problem-solvers of the future.
