Sterling’s Ho Ho Ho Food Scavenger Hunt a success
The Sterling High School Ho Ho Ho Scavenger Hunt, the annual food drive benefiting needy local families during the holiday season, brought in more than 10,000 items on Monday night. Sterling High School’s Ho Ho Ho Scavenger Hunt pits teams of students in a competition to see which team can gather the most non-perishable food items. Students have about two hours to go door-to-door in several Baytown neighborhoods collecting canned goods to help stock the shelves of the local food pantry. The Ho Ho Ho Scavenger Hunt has been a tradition at Sterling for almost two decades. The food items were being collected for the Baytown Food Bank and baby items for the New Horizon Family Center This year’s Ho Ho Ho Scavenger Hunt had 38 teams participate (195 students and about 50 adults). And those Sterling Santas brought in more than 10,068 items. “It was a huge success!” said Beth Woods, one of the event organizers.
