GCCISD Career Academy administrators and teachers attended the National Career Academy Coalition Conference that took place November 15 – 17th in Orlando, Florida. The Career and Technical Education staff was selected to present a session entitled, “Dual Credit for Everyone.” In the session, presenters discussed the dual credit opportunities that are offered in all of the academies across the district. GCCISD partners with multiple institutions of higher learning in order to provide their students with this opportunity. Depending on the career academy, students can complete the Texas core curriculum, an associate degree, and/or workforce college certificates. Although there are underlying similarities, each career academy offers dual credit in different ways to meet the individual needs of its students and its campus.
