The Goose Creek CISD Future Farmers of America (FFA) received a proclamation during the February 20th Board meeting, with a second reading with Baytown Mayor Brandon Capetillo on February 23rd. According to ffa.org, “FFA is an extracurricular student organization for those interested in agriculture and leadership.” The organization was established in 1928 in Kansas City, Missouri. Today, there are over 850,000 members, aged 12-21, in close to 9,000 chapters in all states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

ExxonMobil of Baytown made a generous donation of $50,000 to the Goose Creek CISD Robotics program during a special presentation at the February 20th Board meeting. The donation will be used to provide resources and outreach for the program, which is currently being housed in the district’s Robotics Center, which opened in October 2022. The district hosted a formal recognition presentation on March 8th at the Robotics Center.
