Goose Creek CISD hosted a district junior school robotics tournament at the Robotics Center on May 6th. The Baytown “Battle of the Bots” was an opportunity for students to participate in a friendly competition that will prepare them for the next school year’s robotics season. GCCISD junior schools are new to the VEX IQ Competition this year. VIQC provides junior school students with exciting, open-ended robotics challenges that enhance their science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) skills through hands-on, student-centered learning. The VEX IQ Robotics Competition fosters student development of the teamwork, critical thinking, project management, and communication skills required to prepare them to become the next generation of innovators and problem solvers. GCCISD junior schools brought together students from across the district to work collaboratively on the teamwork challenge for 2022-2023, entitled, “Slapshot.”
