Congratulations to Goose Creek Memorial High School Welding Department. Francisco Delgado, Logan Hurd, Eduardo Reyna, and Hector Martinez participated in the Texas High School Welding Certification Event at Lee College in October, where Delgado and Martinez finished in the top ten out of 55 students in the level 4 using the GTAW process. In the same month, seniors in welding were also taken to the Construction Careers Expo at the Pasadena Municipal Fairgrounds. During the event, Daniel Maya emerged as the first-place winner in the virtual welding competition.

Daniel Maya received a DeWALT Bluetooth speaker for winning first place in the virtual welding competition at the Construction Careers Expo.
Welding instruction is provided to the students by their teacher, Fortino (Tino) Guajardo. Chris McLaren, the Agricultural Science Teacher at GCM, helped serve as a chaperone at the Expo.
