Bañuelos Elementary Sponsors Blanket Project

Imagine being away from home during this special time of year. Fifth-grade GATE students at Dr. Antonio Bañuelos Elementary want to BLANKET the community with hope and kindness by collecting small lap blankets. The blankets will be given to the residents of Baytown Nursing and Rehab Center in Baytown. The holiday season is a good time to be reminded to be thankful for the things we have. Some people are not as fortunate as others.

The school will collect blankets until December 15, 2018. If you would like to donate a blanket, please drop it off in the front office at the school at 7770 East Point, Baytown, TX.

“It makes our hearts feel good to know that a sick patient will have a warm blanket for comfort,” said fifth-grade teacher Linda LeDay. “I hope the students get a sense of the value of community service.”
