Fingerprinting Requirements

According to the Texas Education Code (TEC), Chapter 22, Subchapter C, the following individuals must complete fingerprinting before employment:

  • All certified educators, including those holding an educator certification or an Emergency Teaching Permit issued by the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC)
  • All classroom substitute teachers and educational aides, regardless of certification status
  • Non-certified employees hired by the District, including applicants for a School District Teaching Permit
  • Contracted employees who have direct contact with students

Important Note: If an employee has not already been fingerprinted and subscribed to the Texas Education Agency (TEA), the candidate will be responsible for the cost of fingerprinting.
