Madeleine Broussard, a sophomore at IMPACT Early College High School, has been selected as the 2020 Kiwanis Club of Baytown Sophomore of the Year. She advanced to the Texas-Oklahoma District of Kiwanis International, where she is one of 20 students to win a $600 scholarship for her demonstrated leadership abilities.

The Sophomore of the Year award is designed to seek out, recognize and develop leadership potential with sophomores as well as encourage and prepare the next generation of civic and corporate leadership for America’s future.

“Through her application essays, Madeleine exemplified the servant-leadership and community responsibility that is the mission of the Kiwanis Club International: ‘Changing the World One Child and One Community at a Time.’ We are honored to have her represent our organization,” said Renea Dillon, Scholarships Committee chair.
